Waste Not, Want Not!

Kristina Lundsjö

I have made painterly textile collages. In the work I have combined various techniques: screen printing, digital printing, painting and appliqué. By transforming old fabrics I have chosen to bring them into the present.

WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!

A new take on post-Soviet fashion, that departs from the street look. The inspiration comes primarily from the Soviet cotton Telogreika jacket, to which I have given new life with exaggerated shapes and handpainted, digitally printed patterns.

AFROPICKS

"These afro pick combs are inspired by people with afro hair. The picks are designed to suit various types of afro hair and hairstyles. By developing new picks I wanted to contribute with something that feels fun and also make a statement".

OUTSIDE MATERIAL; THE TRANSFIGURATION OF LINES

"The objects are processed by steam treating ash wood in order to be able to manipulate the material according to ability: reliable hands and will are required to translate thought into wood. Number, order and position are the elementary foundations of my creativity".

OBSESSION

"1 collection, 21 garments, 500,000 safety pins, 1,500,000 beads and 7,000 hours. My artistry is characterized by an obsession, which in the past two years has taken priority over my health, relationships and job - and has cost me some of my most valuable possession; time".

JAN KLINGLER

BACTERIA IN A NEW LIGHT, LAMPA

Wherever we go, bacteria go with us. Throughout our lives, we leave behind an invisible trail of biological prints. By growing bacterial cultures from certain times and places - such as a first date - designer Jan Klingler has come up with a way of preserving significant memories.
